Happy Birthday, Theo!

My sweet little one turns two today!  I can't believe how fast these last two years have flown by! And while everything has passed very quickly, it still seems like Theo has been in our lives forever.  What was life like before my silly, wild, mischevious little boy was born? Probably a lot less crazy, but not nearly as much fun!  Thank you, Lovie, for bringing so much joy, laughter and energy to our home - you light up my life! I love you, Theo!

Tubes

My sweet little Theo got tubes put in in ears this morning.  Poor baby :(  I had to get him up at 5:30 a.m. and couldn't feed him anything until after the surgery which was at 8:30.  Let's just say he was NOT happy with me!  Everything went really well, though, and he's home sleeping.  Hopefully all the ear infections and problems will stop now. 

Monkey Party Recap

As of today, I officially have a one year old.  I can't believe a year has already flown by since Theo was born.  Seems like just yesterday...

So, his first birthday party was great!  We are blessed with some wonderful friends and it was great to get to connect with a few of them and hang out and celebrate my little Monkey's special day. 

A few highlights:

The cupcake toppers - I used different size circle punches to make the monkey heads, a Marvy scallop punch for the yellow scallops and the #1 is from the A Muse Build a Birthday clear set.  The colors of the party were yellow and brown so I used chocolate frosting and added yellow food coloring to cream cheese frosting.  Perfect!

This little monkey is from the Dollar Tree and I tied the balloons to him to keep them in place-

Here's a full shot of the table.  It's hard to tell in the photo but I added a monkey face to the dark brown balloons, too.  Sorry about the crappy picture, it's all MUCH cuter in real life!

All-in-all it was a very fun party and I am so thankful for my family and friends.

Monkey Cups

Theo's monkey party is on Saturday and these are the cups that I made for it.  I got the idea from Martha.  Aren't these just the cutest things ever??

I got the brown paper cups from Birthday Direct and I made the mouth, ears and tails and paper lunch sacks.  I used my Marvy punches for the circles, a sharpie for the eyes and just curled a strip of paper around my finger to make the tails.

Theo's room

I've been thinking about posting pics of Theo's room for awhile now because I think it's soooo cute and then Emm requested some pics so I thought, "What the heck!"  Hopefully no polka-dot loving psycho hunts me down and comes to my house after seeing these!

Theo's door.  I made the letters by printing them out on the computer onto colored cardstock using the "outline" setting on the letters and then cut them out.  I traced a bowl to make the brown circle, cut it out and stuck the two together. 

Here's the main picture of his room.  The bedding is polka-dot on one side and striped on the other and it's from BabyGap. I did the polka-dots on his wall by first punching out circles of "Wallies" wallpaper and adhering them to the wall (they're removable with water), and then I punched the color of dots that I needed to match his room out of cardstock and stuck them on top of the Wallies dots.  I didn't want to put the paper directly on the wall because it wouldn't stick and painting them was waaaaaaaay too time consuming.  I love how they turned out! 

 

This is in the corner of his room.  Check out the lampshade - I painted it!  Yeah, I was pretty proud of that one! :)  My dad got it for me at a second hand store because he knew it would match the room and then I added the stripes to coordinate.  The clock is from Craft Warehouse - got it 50% off last week! Woo-hoo!

   

Here's a shot so you can see the new curtains.  I'm pretty bummed because, as you can see, they don't hang smoothly because they're not sewn correctly.  Oh well, at least they're cute!

 

And my fave thing in his room - his name!  The circles behind letters are actually cork trivets from IKEA that we painted (my DH thought of that!) so it gives them some dimension.  LOVE IT!!

Cutest thing EVER!!!!

Okay, check out how stinkin' cute this is!! My grandma knits sweaters for little teddy bears and I asked her to make one for Theo with his initial.  Can you believe how adorable this turned out?? I can hardly stand it!  Too much cuteness!!!!

Theo's clapping!

Theo has started clapping! It's the cutest thing ever.  Stacy and I were getting him ready for bed and he was laughing and clapping so I had to get the camera.  I snapped this pic mid-clap.   Could he BE any cuter??

How cute is my little guy in his big-boy jeans?? The cutest!! And I just love his feet, they're sooo small, we call them nubbins :)  (BTW, he's in his swing.)

He tried brown cereal yesterday! I can't believe it's already time for him to start on solid food.  What a big boy!  He did really well eating it, taking about 8 little bites.  We'll probably try again today.

Sorry, no cards yet

Just wanted to let you all know that I've taken a little break from card making.  I created over 185 cards in the last 10 weeks and with gifts and swaps that I did during that time, I actually made over 250.  So, needless to say, I'm tired!!  So, instead of a card, I thought I'd post a picture of me and the boys before church on Sunday.

By the way, I still haven't gotten to see the new stamps yet, so if you have, please leave me a comment and tell me about it! Thanks!

Sweet baby...

I've been sitting here looking through pictures of when Theo was born and this picture really touched me and I wanted to share it with you.  We're just leaving the hospital and I'm sitting in the wheel-chair just admiring my new little miracle.  Look how alert he is and I LOVE that he's holding my finger.  He was so teeny!  I can't believe how fast time has flown and that Theo is already 4 months old.  I'm so glad this moment was captured.

Guess what Theo did today?

He rolled over!!! What a big boy he is!  I fed him this morning at about 3 a.m and about an hour later I heard him squawking and talking in his crib and I thought, "What is he doing?!  He's supposed to be asleep!" and I went in there and the smart little boy was laying on his back (he sleeps on his tummy...yes, his tummy, please don't judge me.)  Anyway, he was just laying there cooing and playing with his blanket looking like he was thinking, "Hhmm, I wonder what just happened here?" Haha.  It was soooo cute!  I thought to myself, "Self, go get the camera and take a picture," but unfortunetly, I didn't.  Then, (yes, there's more!) this morning when we got him up, we layed him down and he rolled from his back to his tummy!  Both ways in one day! Awesome, huh?  That time I managed to catch it on video.  I love moments like this.  I know he's a genious!!  *wink*
