Since it's CrAzY hot here and I don't have a car at the moment to go anywhere, we've been spending a lot of time indoors. And after about 3 days of this, we're I'm starting to go a little crazy and I can't handle the boys watching one more movie or Isaiah playing anymore video games. So, I totally copied my friend Valerie who made body paint for her kids a few weeks ago and we made finger paints today! It was soooo fun! Here's the recipe that I used. The only thing about it, is that it says to cook it for 10-15 minutes but it only took about 5 for me. And once it starts to thicken, pull it off the stove 'cause it gets REALLY thick really fast.
Here's what it looked like after we added the food coloring (which we did while it was still hot, btw.)
Here's me and Izy after we painted our "Indian war paint." :) And our very serious faces! Oh, and by the way, I didn't fix my hair today and have no product in it so ignore it! Lol!
Izy's full body paint - (Okay, I've been trying for 15 minutes to get this picture right side up and it's straight in the photo editing software and in the files but for whatever reason, it's sideways when I post it so I'm just going to leave it.) :)
Theo painting with it -
And here's Izy's picture (Theo destroyed his before I could snap a photo of it - no surprise there! But I love his chubby little hands holding the picture down. So cute!)
Anyway, there ya go! Hope this gives you a fun idea to try out with your kiddos. This was really fun! Not all of our crafty adventures work out but this one was a blast and I will definitely be doing it again! Yay for non-toxic, home made paint! :)
Good Job Mama KT! That Valerie chic must be really cool.
