TCP Blog Candy!!

TCP - New Stamps!! (And they are GOOD!!)

Yippee! I have my first **sneak-peek** of the new The Cat's Pajamas stamps to share with you!  This next release is all about birthdays and let me just say, you are gonna LOVE these stamps!! Seriously.  Alma has outdone herself this time!!

EEEK! Look at that cupcake!!! Isn't it just the cutest thing you ever seen?!! I love it!  Now, I'm not going to give you too many details on this clear set so you'll have the check out the website on August 29th to see it for yourself :) All I'm saying is it's TDF!

Yippee!  I love TCP Tuesday - it's always so fun to see all the yummy creations that everyone comes up with.  Jen is the Hostess with the Mostess today and she's got an Inspiration Challenge for you.  Be sure to check out her blog for all the details!  I actually don't have a card made (yet) but I will hopefully be posting it later on today or tomorrow.  I've been on a bit of a stamping hiatus the last few days so I'm looking forward to getting back into my stamping routine.

TCP Tuesday - Color Challenge

Since Toni is off gallivanting in Hawaii (lucky!) I get to be the Color Challenge Hipster Hostess with the Mostess this week! I'm really excited about this one because I L-O-V-E color!!  I'm not a beige girl by any means - I'm a hot pink and orange girl!  And speaking of those colors, here's your challenge for the week - make a card/project using  my three favorite colors orange, pink, and chocolate brown! Can't wait to see what you come up with!

I actually made my card for the last release for The Cat's Pajamas but it's not on the TCP website and I've never posted it to my blog so I thought this would be the perfect time to showcase it.  I think this is my favorite TCP card I've ever made.  Probably because I love these colors so much!  Hope you like it!  And remember to check out the other DT member's blogs (over there on the left) to see more yummy creations!

Yesterday was TCP Tuesday and Leigh is the Hipster Hostess with the Mostess this week and she's got a sketch challenge for us to try.  I love sketch challenges and this is a fun one!  Be sure to check out her blog for all the details!

Here's the sketch-

And here's my card for it.  I used my Snowflake CB folder to make the background and then stamped the blue flag with the  Starburst Curtain stamp.  To make the flag, I simply cut a rectangle of blue paper and then layed one of my square Nestabilities at an angle over the paper to make a triangle and then ran it through the CB.  Easy! :)

Another Relaxing card

Here's my second card for TCP Tuesday.  I'm really LOVING this stamp! Thanks for the images, Toni!  And isn't this paper so perfect for this stamp? Love it!! I've actually gone a little crazy with this paper over the last few days, I've made 4 cards with it so far!  And check out the ribbon on this one!  I took a cue from Carole and colored in the white polka-dots to match my paper! Isn't that the best tip? I used Copics, SU! and CTMH markers on the dots and they all worked great.

TCP Tuesday - Stamp Challenge

It's TCP Tuesday and I'm the Hostess with the Mostess and I've got a stamp challenge for you!  Since we're in the middle of a heat wave here in Portland, I thought it would be fun to do a cool, summery image so your challenge is to use "Relaxing" which is the stamp with Sprinkle louging in the blow-up pool (scroll down, it's the very last stamp.)  It doesn't get more summery than that!  Here are all the deets for TCP Tuesday (lifted from Jen's blog) -

TCP Tuesday Card...

I'm finally getting a chance to post my card from Leigh's TCP Tuesday - Sketch.  Have you checked it out yet?  She is soooo talented and her sketches are amazing, they definitely push me to think outside of my little creative box.  Thanks, Leigh!!

For my card, I started with a dark brown card base and then ran some Old Olive (SU!) cardstock through my  CB using the D'vine Swirls Folder.  I knew I wanted to use the swirl images from The Cat's Pajamas Christmas clear sets and I thought it would be cool to have swirls in the background paper, too.  The image is colored with Copic markers and high-lighted with a Spica pen (LOVE those!)

TCP Tuesday - Color Challenge

This color scheme totally reminds me of summer but I don't have any TCP summer stamps (how can that be?!) so I went with a birthday card instead.  This card is very simple because I wasn't feeling well last night and I had absolutely no creativity going on.  I made "candles" using some A Muse notecards and a corner rounder.  The "flames" were free-hand cut from contrasting notecard colors.

TCP Tuesday - Inspiration Challenge

Carole is the Hipster Hostess this week and she's an inspiration challenge for us - Sitcoms! Yep, make a card/project based off of a T.V. Sitcom.  She's got all the details for TCP Tuesday (as well as an ADORABLE card) here.  Honestly, I had a really hard time with this one because although there are lots of TV shows that I like, I couldn't seem to come up with anything that I could translate with my TCP stamps.  And then - Hubby to the rescue!  He said, "Do Smelly Cat."  Of course! Smelly Cat!  Now, if you don't know what Smelly Cat is....well, I just don't know what to say to you, lol!  How about you check this out to see what I'm talking about :)

Here's my version of Smelly Cat - (and just so you know, I have absolutely no artistic ability so those are probably the worst drawn fishbones ever).

Clear Scraps Tags

Alma sent all of us DT Members some new Clear Scraps products and asked us to come up with something using them and a few other goodies that she sent along.  I chose to work with the Scalloped Tags and as you all know, I am soooo not a scrapbooker so I just kept things simple and made two cute little tags. 

This tag started from me wanting to use the "adore" bling from Heidi Swapp and so I pieced together the rest of the words using two TCP Stamps - "I love Mew" and "Just for You".   I adhered the paper to the back of the tag so it would show through the front using a bit of Mod Podge around the edge.  Then I used the brads to attach it the rest of the way.   The hearts are just free-hand cut out and I distressed the ege of the tag using Staz-On.

The second tag is totally different but still cute.  This one was inspired by the Heidi Swapp Bling Cherries, plus I just love pink and green together!  I used Adhesive Sheets to add the glitter to the circle.

TCP Tuesday - Sketch Challenge

 

Leigh is The Hipster Hostess today and she's got a sketch challenge for you!  This was such a fun sketch to play with, I hope you give it a try! Be sure to check out her blog for all the details.

For my card, I knew I wanted to use my new Jack-in-the-box stamp (scroll down to see it) that I simply had to have as soon as I saw Tracy's super cute card that she made with it.  I had this paper out and thought it would work really well for the sketch.  And check it out! I actually SEWED on my card! Yep, I - the queen of quick and simple - actually took the time to lug out the ol' machine and got to work sewing.  Hhhmm, I'll just say the machine and I had a bit of a battle so don't look too closely at the stitching! Lol!  And I used rub-ons for only the second time in my life and I gotta say, I'm not the hugest fan of them, I prefer to stamp :)

TCP Tuesday

I forgot to post yesterday that it was TCP Tuesday and this weeks Hostess with the Mostess is Carole!  She is one sassy, funny, super talented lady so you know she's going to have some fun challenges!  Check out her blog for all the details! 

Doggy Treats Tin

As you know, I'm not the person that loves to alter things - I like my cards - but this tin was so much fun to do!  I started with this adorable paper and cut some different strips to make it look cute around the tin.  Next, I stamped Big Fifi, colored her in with Copic Markers, highlighted  her with my Spica gold pen and then cut her out using my oval Nestabilities.  I used my Crop-o-dile to punch holes in the side of the tin to add the ribbon handle.  My favorite part of the little doggy bone "charms" on each side of the handle (see second picture.)  I made those by cutting out some of the little bones from the patterned paper, punched a teeny hole and added a metal ring.   The dog bone on the lid is also part of the patterned paper that I cut out and colored with Copic Markers.  Enjoy!

TCP Tuesday!

It's TCP Tuesday and this week it's a stamp challenge!  Since Toni did the trademark TCP colors last week, I thought I should start with the trademark TCP stamp - Sprinkle!  So your challenge this week is to use Big or Little Sprinkle in a card or project.  Any other stamps or products may be used but TCP stamps are always preferred :)  (And here's a little tip - if you don't have these two stamps and you can stand to live without them for just a bit longer, Alma is coming out with a brand new Swanky Clear Set that includes both stamps as well as some other super cute TCP classics.  Fun, fun!)

ETA:  Just to clarify, in order to be counted for the Swanky Stamper contest, you must use the TCP stamp called "Big Sprinkle" or "Little Sprinkle" not one of the many versions of Sprinkle.  Thanks!  And let me know if you have any questions.  :)

TCP Tuesdays!

TCP News...

There is some exciting news at The Cat's Pajamas!  We now have two new DT members - Jen Del Muro and Carole Burrage.  They are both very, very talented and I'm sooooo excited to see what they come up with using the TCP stamps!   Welcome, ladies!!

Better Get Better.

This sentiment is the best! I think it's such a fun twist to the usual "Feel better soon."  It's like I'm saying Get better or else!  Haha!   This is for a friend of mine, hope it brings a smile to her face. 

This is a pretty standard layout that I use all the time and I see others use it a lot, as well.  It  makes putting a card together very quick and easy.  Have you ever tried it?

Today's the day!!! {The sun is shining!  The tank is clean...THE TANK IS CLEAN!!!!"}  Hee, hee! What movie is that from?

Actually, today is the day the new The Cat's Pajamas stamps are released!! Cowboys and Indians and Valentine's Day clear sets!! Woo-hoo!! Yea for new stamps!  Have you ordered yet??

Tealight tin and not so clever

So, early last week I was looking at my nugget tins and started trying to think of other things that could go in them besides nuggets.  I took a little walk around my house and then saw some candles and thought, "Of course! Tealights!"  Well, I decided that I was extremely clever for thinking of this!  A few days later, however, I was blog surfing and came across this post (you have to scroll way down to see it.)  Turns out, I'm not clever at all!  Gina K had the brilliant idea to not only put tealights in the tins, but to use glue dots to hold the candles down to keep them from rattlin' around.  Such a smart gal!  I ended up using Pop-dots for mine to keep them in place :) 

Are you getting excited for The Cat's Pajamas big release tomorrow??!! I know I am! You're gonna love what Alma has come up with.  She's soooo clever!
